WINDS ROSE

A cold wind similar to Bura, but stable. It is a chilly wind of moderate strength (sometimes can be very strong) that usually blows when the weather is bright. It predicts better weather.
The strongest wind on the Adriatic, blowing from the land over the mountains to the sea, often in bursts and variable directions.
Eastern wind, often with the same features as Bura, sometimes it is warm wind and predicts better weather.
Jugo, a southeastern wind, generally brings rain and bad bio meteorological conditions. It often changes to Lebić wind.
Oštro is a southern wind, characterized by great strength, and a relatively small duration. It is a warm and moist wind, which mostly represents sharp transition phase between Jugo and Lebić.
Lebić is a brief wind that blows after Jugo finishes. It can be strong in which case we call it lebićada. If a new storm develops during Lebić with a cloudy or a partly cloudy sky, Lebić wind will weaken and the wind will turn south again, which is a certain sign of a new cyclone coming in.
PPonent, Punenat or Pulento is a rare wind in our area. When it reaches big strength, we call it pulentada.
Typically pleasant summer wind, usually blowing every day when the weather is good, starting at 8:00 am, reaching it`s peek around 14:00, and stopping around 18:00 pm, bringing light refreshment on hot days. It`s strength of 3-5 Beaufort makes it ideal for sailing.
